Stella Standish

Funeral Mass for Stella R. (DeMaranville) Standish, 91, Basehor, will be noon Friday, Nov. 19, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Standish died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 29, 1919, in rural Bonner Springs, the daughter of Jasper and Lucy (Fish) DeMaranville. She was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, where she was an active member of the Altar Society. After moving in 2000 to Basehor, she became a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Her husband of 49 years Paul Standish, died in 1986. Four sons, Robert, Jerrold, Richard and Phillip, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Alice Clark, Olathe, and Jackie Brunker, Basehor; a sister, Mary Everett, McLouth; a brother, Jasper DeMaranville, Basehor; a sister, Sharon Martin, Bonner Springs; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson on the way.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the church.
