Alvin Palmer

Services for Alvin (Bud) Palmer, 88, Bonner Springs, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Bonner Springs United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the church.
Mr. Palmer died Saturday Oct. 9, 2010.
He was born Feb. 16, 1922, in Peabody, Kan., the son of Charles and Irene (Buckner) Palmer. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and worked as a laborer for Phillips Petroleum. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Bonner Springs VFW Post No. 6401 and the Basehor Lions Club.
A daughter, Rhonda Thomas, died in February 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Palmer, of the home; a daughter, Karol (Terry) Lohman, Leavenworth; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials to the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church, or the Salvation Army, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.
