Kathy Powers

Memorial services for Kathy J. Powers, 58, Merriam, will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Overland Park, followed by a visitation.
Mrs. Powers died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at her home.
She was born June 4, 1952, in Decatur, Ill., the daughter of Alva Edgar and Charlotte (Durbin) Stafford. She was a graduate of Monticello High School, Monticello, Ill.
Mrs. Powers was a registered nurse, retired from Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
On Dec. 27, 1975, she married Stephen Powers in Monticello, Ill. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Jessica Powers, Greenwood, Mo.; a son, Christopher (Kendra) Powers, Roeland Park; a granddaughter; and a sister, Pamela Sue Baker, Monticello, Ill.
