Services for James E. Cranston, 75, Kansas City, Kan., were Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan.
Burial with military honors was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cranston died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at his home.
He was born Nov. 29, 1934, in Kansas City, Kan., to George E. and Catherine E. (Saunders) Cranston. He attended Wyandotte High School, and served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Cranston worked as a warehouseman and truck driver. He was a member and deacon of Sunset Hills Christian Church.
He is preceded in death by a son, James (Freddie) Cranston.
Survivors include his mother, Catherine E. Cranston; wife of 50 years, Carol L. Cranston, of the home; four daughters, Marie Hines, of Riverside, Mo., Kimberley (Frank) Dobbins, Kansas City, Kan., Joanna (Jerry) Woods, Tonganoxie, and Mary (Ron) Stremming, Kansas City, Kan.; son, James R. (Karen) Cranston, Gladstone, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Kansas City Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112.
