Maurice “Mose” Chandley
Memorial services for Maurice Shannon “Mose” Chandley, 63, Hutchinson, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Grace Episcopal Church, Hutchinson. Cremation has taken place.
Mr. Chandley died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born Feb. 8, 1947, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Stuart Lynn and Florence Marie Bauer Chandley. He graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1965 and attended Emporia State University. He was a board director at Alden State Bank in Sterling.
Mr. Chandley received a heart transplant on Nov. 10, 1997. After that he devoted his life to volunteering. He gave tours at Dillon Nature Center and the Kansas Cosmosphere. He donated time to Midwest Transplant Network. He was a vestry member at Grace Episcopal Church.
On Aug. 12, 1967, he married Suzanne Marie King Chandley in Ulysses. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Shannon Hendricks (Tim), Sterling, and Marisa Honomichl (Gary), McPherson; a brother, Mark Chandley (Martha), Basehor; a sister, Susan Kelley (Ronald), Columbia, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9: p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, and Friday, Oct. 1, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Dillon Nature Center or Grace Episcopal Church, sent in care of the mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
