Visitation for Lola Jean Schmitz, 82, Kansas City, Kan., was Monday, Dec. 12, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.
Mrs. Schmitz died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Schmitz, and her son, Ronald Schmitz.
Survivors include four children, Margaret Wright, Deborah Eggleston, Cynthia Jewell, and Dennis Schmitz (Vicki); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Avanal Harding.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or to Kansas City Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203.
