Howard Hensley

Services for Howard W. Hensley, 86, Carrolton, Mo., will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Bittiker Funeral Home, Carrollton, Mo. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield, Mo., with Military Services provided by American Legion Post #182, Brookfield.
Mr. Hensley died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at Carroll House in Carrollton.
He was born Oct. 2, 1924, near Brookfield, Mo., in Linn County, Mo., the son of Charlie Parker and Inez(Newman) Hensley. He attended school in Brookfield, Mo.
Mr. Hensley served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. He retired in 1979 after 30 years of service with the General Motors Leeds Plant in the maintenance department.
He married Mary J. Wells on May 4, 1946, in Kansas City, Kan. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include three daughters; Linda S. DeMint, Carrollton, Mo., Margy (Jim) Bray, Bonner Springs, and Patty (Ricky) Harris, Independence, Mo.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Carrollton Senior Center, sent in care of the funeral home, 1201 North 65 Hwy., Carrollton, MO 64633.
