Marion Ashlock

Services for Marion Rozelle Darrah Ray Ashlock, 87, Lenexa, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Amos Family Funeral Home, Shawnee.
Mrs. Ashlock died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
She was born July 6, 1923, in Lafayette County, Mo., the daughter of Elton Edgar Darrah and Violet Hester Tankersley.
Mrs. Ashlock was a member of Shawnee Presbyterian Church, United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Ladies Auxiliary, Shawnee, and American Legion Post 327.
As a child she and her siblings used to sing and dance for the old Confederate veterans. At Greenwood Terrace Senior community, where she lived, she entertained other residents by playing the piano.
Her first husband, Leo Clayton Ray Sr,, and a son, Leo Clayton Ray Jr., both died earlier.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Keith Ashlock; two sons, Larry Clayton (Alison) Ray and James Dennis (Ann) Ray; three stepsons, Gerald Steven (Cheryl) Ashlock, Ronald Eugene (Terri) Ashlock, and Greg Allen Ashlock; a stepdaughter, Karen Sue Ashlock Buckle; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Elton Edgar Darrah Jr.; and a sister, Virginia Dee Rooney.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 16, at the funeral home.
