James Horner

Services for James G. Horner, 77, Lenexa, will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
Mr. Horner died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011.
He was born Sept. 10, 1934, the son of Charles and Catherine Horner.
Mr. Horner grew up in Merriam and Shawnee, and was a lifelong area resident. He was em-ployed by the Gas Service Company and retired in 1989 after 38 years of service.
In retirement, Mr. Horner was an avid golfer. He and his golf buddies, mostly from American Legion Post 327 of Shawnee, traveled many places to play.
A son, Frank Horner, died earlier.
Survivors include his wife, Alice K. Horner; two daughters, Bonnie Burnley (Michael) and Claudia Sikes; a son, Michael Horner; a stepson, Richard Hartsell (Barbara); a brother, Bill Hor-ner; nine grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, preceding the funeral service. Cremation is planned.
