Dorothy Risner
Services for Dorothy Louise (Barr) Risner, Shawnee, were Monday, Nov. 28, at Shawnee Church of the Nazarene. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa.
Mrs. Risner died Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at home
She was a graduate of Argentine High School.
Mrs. Risner was active in the community, and volunteered as a gray lady for Bethany Hospital. For many years she served as a deaconess at Antioch Hills Baptist Church, and facilitated a Bible School for the children in the neighborhood called the Good News Club. She was an active member of the Trail Blazers, a senior citizens social organization, and she has attended Shawnee Church of the Nazarene for more than 30 years.
She married John A. Risner Sr. on May 11, 1941. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two children, Karen O’Hara, Lenexa, and John Risner Jr., Houston; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
