Lenexa — Funeral Mass for John E. Brady Jr., 81, Lenexa, and formerly of Edwardsville, were Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawnee. Burial was at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
Mr. Brady died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011.
He was born April, 19, 1930, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of John E. Brady Sr. and Elizabeth May Murphy.
Mr. Brady was a petty officer second class in the United States Navy, serving from 1951 to 1954. During his military service, he received training in lithography. In 1955, he and Henry McGrew founded McGrew Color Graphics, and eventually Mr. Brady became the firm’s president and CEO before retiring after 37 years.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Karen; two sons, Mike (Marie) Brady and Steve (Desiree) Brady, Edwardsville; a daughter, Mary (Jim) Mair, Lenexa; two brothers, Charles Brady, Lawrence, and Patrick Brady, Tulsa, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs, handled arrangements.
