Rose Dargon
Rose Marie Dargon, 85, of Merriam, KS passed away January 7th, 2012 at Villa St Francis in Olathe, KS. Visitation was Friday January 13th from 6-8 PM at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Services were held Saturday January 14th at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Villa St Francis. The family would like to thank the staff of Villa St. Francis for the care, comfort, kindness, and love they bestowed upon their mother.
Rose was born November 1st, 1926 in Kansas City, KS and was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area. She was a graduate of Ward High School and married James Dargon Jr. on June 2nd, 1945. Rose enjoyed painting, traveling, lots of laughter, a good glass of wine, and above all, her family. She loved her children so much they all feel they were “her favorite”. She made everyone who entered her home feel welcome and special. Rose worked for the Shawnee Mission School District for 20 years before retiring in 1986.
Rose is survived by daughters, Brenda Smith and husband Joseph of Lenexa, KS, Laureen Martens of Lee’s Summit, MO, Sharon Ring and husband Roger of Shawnee, KS, and Rosemary Stewart of St. George, UT, sons, Brian Dargon of Overland Park, KS, Dennis Dargon and wife Teri of St. George, UT, James Dargon III and wife Loretta of Olathe, KS, 8 Grandchildren, and 10 Great-Grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband James Dargon Jr., their daughter Karen Marie Dargon, daughter-in-law, Barbara Dargon, son-in-law, Donald Martens, her parents, Harry and Rose Anna (Sommers) Roos, sisters, Loretta Ohmes, Sister Josephine Roos O.S.B., brothers, Bernard Roos, Eugene Roos, and Victor Roos.
