Naomi Lee Boyce
Naomi Pearl Lee Boyce, life-long resident of Bonner Springs, Kansas, died April 26, 2014, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born December 26, 1915. She was the daughter of Loren and Virgina Lee, and youngest sister to Virginia, Paul and Emma Lee.
She was raised on a farm near Bonner, then studied at the University of Kansas in Lawrence where she met her husband Robert L. Boyce Jr. They were married in November, 1939. After living briefly in Kansas City, Kansas, they made their home in Bonner Springs where they raised their three sons and were active in many community and social organizations. Naomi was an active life-long member of the Bonner United Methodist Church. She was also a long time member of Eastern Star, PEO and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the Red Cross. She served for eight years on the Bonner Springs School Board.
An avid gardener, a voracious reader, and skilled seamstress, she also travelled the world visiting Great Britain, Scandinavia, Europe and the Middle East.
Naomi counted raising her sons as her proudest accomplishment. She will be missed and always loved by Robert of Lincoln, Nebraska, his sons, David Arthur and James Matthew and wife Karen, and children, Alexa Madison, Nathan Lucas, and Ashlyn Grace; Michael and his wife Barbara, of Kansas City, Kansas, their children, Michelle Lea Lynne and husband David, and children Jami and Kodi; Donald and Robin Hilt, their children Jessica, Donald Jr. and Bradley; Roy Roger Hilt; Larry Hyatte and his children, Emily, Cody, Sally and Abby; Brian and wife Kaylyn of Lawrence, Kansas, and their daughter Lillian Lee.
A memorial service will be held at 3PM on May 24, 2014 at the Alden Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, Ks. 66012. Memorials may be made to the Bonner Springs Methodist church or to a charity of your choice.
