Mary Jo Drake

Mary Jo Drake, 66, Polo, MO, passed away February 22, 2022.

The family will receive friends on Thursday March 3rd from 6­8pm at the Quisenberry Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held Friday March 4th at 10am at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. Burial will follow in Mount Sidney Cemetery in Linwood, KS.

Mary Jo was born November 4, 1955 in Parsons, KS. She was raised by her adoptive parents Elmer and Etta May (Hodgson) Wickey. She was a graduate of Tonganoxie High School in 1973, she attended KCKCC where she studied women’s health and went on to obtain her Master’s Degree at the University of Texas, Dallas in 1988.

Mary Jo utilized her skills to help countless individuals throughout her career working as a Nurse Practitioner before retiring in 2018. Mary Jo was an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother and her wild horse spirit, love and memories will live on forever with her family and loved ones.

Mary Jo is survived by her husband of 25 years, Dane Henry, two sons, Rick Drake (Amy Drake), Tonganoxie, Mike Drake (Taylor Drake), Tonganoxie; two step daughters, Amber Darlene Higgins (John Higgins), Liberty, MO, Ashlee Dana Henry, Austin, TX; and 10 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the Drake/Henry grandchildren’s Trust11/00.
