Daniel Scott Nelson, 43, Independence, MO, passed away Monday December 11, 2023, in an auto accident.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM Saturday December 16, 2023, at Memorial Hall, 600 N 7th Street Trafficway Kansas City, KS 66101 with burial services to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, KS. The family will receive friends for two hours prior starting at 10:00 AM.
Daniel was born January 9, 1980, in Lawrence, KS, the son of Delana and Greg (Erter) Nelson. He was a 1998 graduate of Tonganoxie High School. He was a member of the IBEW Kansas City. He was a member of the Graceway Church, Raytown, MO. He was a very well-known Kansas City Chiefs superfan.

Kansas City, MO; stepmother, Vonda Geary, Kansas City, MO; three sons, Jaidyn and Gavin Nelson (Jo), Liberty, MO; Camren Nelson (Lindsey), Blue Springs, MO; one daughter, Gianna Nelson (Erica), Grain Valley, MO; one brother, Bryan Breshears (Jamie), Edwardsville, KS; three sisters, Nichole McKinzie, Shawnee, KS; Mindy Horton (Mike), Belton, MO; Leah Nelson-Almatar (Danyal), Kansas City, MO; his girlfriend, Jessica Teeter, Independence, MO; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends across the world.
Pallbearers: Bryan Breshears, Dan Long, Matt Cano, Jeremy Latta, Derek Unsell, Brandon Neihaus, Chris Stone, and Jason Carr.

Daniel S. Nelson, better known as Red Beard, Blue Beard, or simply Da Beard, was a man who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His larger-than-life personality, infectious enthusiasm, and unwavering love for his
city, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas City Royals made him a true force of nature.
