MARILYN “MIDGE” NOWAK

Marilyn Joan Nowak, 89, Tonganoxie, KS. passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Family graveside services will be held at the New Boston Missouri Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial

contributions to New Boston Christian Church, Building Fund, 15881 Highway 129, New Boston, MO. 63557.

Marilyn was born May 9, 1933 in Buffalo, Illinois and lived most of her life in the Kansas City area. She was employed by

Security National Bank for over 23 years, retiring in 1995. Midge was a life member of the Moose Lodge #1999. She was

preceded in death by her husband John Wilford in 2018, a son Vernon Lee in 1978, her parents Dewey and Iva Henninger, six

brothers; Eugene, Bob, Glen, Paul, Dewey, and Harold, two sisters; Grace and Marguerite.

She is survived by her son and his wife Steven and Sharon Nowak, Tonganoxie, KS; two grandchildren, Kathleen Breuer (Andrew), Lawrence, KS, Chase Nowak (Katherine), Arvada, CO; three great-grandchildren, Jarrett Breuer and Tyler Breuer,

Ellora Nowak; and numerous, out -of-­state nieces and nephews.

Midge was a kind, caring and loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She loved her family deeply and remarked in her last hours how proud she was and how each and everyone turned out. She was accepting of all life’s ups and down. Marilyn

truly valued her many, many friendships and good neighbors over the years. She lived a full but simple fruitful life, and

will be forever loved and missed. May she rest in peace as God welcomes her home.
