Barbara Dale
Barbara Dale, 81, of Tonganoxie, KS passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Barbara was born on September 6, 1942, in Hillsdale, Michigan. She is the daughter of Rev. Charles and Marjorie (Smith) Mercer. She moved to Kansas where she attended Ottawa University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. She married the love of her life, Jack Dale, on November 25th, 1967. She and Jack raised their three children in Tonganoxie, KS, and she was an English teacher at McLouth High School for 25 years before retiring. She loved every moment spent with her family and always had Jesus at the center of her life. Her passion was supporting her grandchildren as she loved them with all of her heart. She was a beloved member of the First Baptist Church of McLouth. She enjoyed watching sporting events and was also a member of the Leavenworth County Master Gardeners. The light of Jesus shined through her and we are comforted to know that she is now wrapped in His arms.
Survivors include her husband Jack Dale; a son, David Dale, and his wife Spencer, Santo, TX; two daughters, Elizabeth Dale, Tonganoxie, KS, Julie DePriest, and her husband Dwayne, McLouth, KS; a brother, Charles Mercer and his wife Anitra, Houghton Lake, MI; a sister, Bette Teeple, and her husband Fred, Elizabethtown, TN; six grandchildren, Beau Bissitt, and his wife Katie, Holton, KS, Brielle Rice and her husband Joe, Holton, KS, Alexa Culter and her husband Charlie, McLouth, KS, Jack Dale and his wife Ashley, Weatherford, TX, Hayden Dale, Santo, TX, Laney Dale, Santo, TX; and eleven precious great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of McLouth. The family will receive family and friends at 10 am, prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.
