Carl Steven Haines
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Steven Haines, 57, of Leavenworth, Kansas, on January 5, 2024. Born on June 29, 1966.
Carl’s education began at Ables Special Education and continued at Leavenworth High School, from where he graduated with pride. An accomplished Special Olympics athlete, Carl excelled in track and field, earning national recognition and several medals.
Active in his community, Carl was a long-term member of the 4H Club “Green Promise” and worked at the US Postal Service in
Leavenworth. His devotion to faith led him to serve as a Deacon at Trinity Church of God in Christ.
Carl’s kind heart, humor, and love for family and community left a lasting impact on those he met.
He is survived by his siblings Ruby Henderson, Josephine Dolores Cooper, Martha Ann Rivera, Anita Louise Jackson, Frances
Michelle Sims, Sophia Marie Haines, and Walter Haines, III, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Carl was predeceased by his parents Walter and Frances, and sister Bessie Daniels.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 20, 2024, at Trinity Church of God in Christ, 24481 South 139th Street, Leavenworth, Kansas, with the wake from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the service. Arrangements by Lawrence A. Jones and Son, Kansas City, KS. Interment at Sunset Memorial Garden, Leavenworth, KS.
