Margaret Frances Lenahan

Margaret (Peg) Frances Lenahan, 98, Tonganoxie, Ks, passed away October 28, 2024.

She earned her bachelor degree from St Mary’s College. She was a pioneer by developing and working as the head of the Virology Laboratory at the University of Kansas Medical Center where she devoted her entire career. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, Ks.

Margaret was born June 14, 1926 in Lawrence, Kansas to Patrick Henry and Mabel (McCaffery) Lenahan. She is proceeded in death by her parents and siblings. Mary Alice Stubbs, Patricia Powell, Joseph Lenahan, James Lenahan, Robert Lenahan, and John Lenahan. Survived by Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Great Great Nieces, Great Great Nephews, Great Great Great Nieces and Great Great Great Nephews.

Funeral mass will be at 10 am Wednesday November 6, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, Ks. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the mass. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Tonganoxie, Ks.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in her name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, Ks. and The University of Kansas Medical Center.
