Loretta Sue Haase

Born, Mar 15, 1959, in Springfield, MO, Loretta Sue Combs was one of three children born to Dale and Carol (Kimmons) Combs.
Loretta and her siblings grew up in N KC area where she met Ernie Haase. While serving in the USMC and home on leave, Ernie was visiting family, when, from across the street, he saw Loretta and knew he had to meet her. Oh, what a great day that was!!
They married in Oct. 1976, traveled the US riding Ernie’s motorcycle, and in his fast “cool” car, to then settle down to start a family. They raised 2 sons in McLouth, KS and while doing so Loretta babysat friends kids.
Loretta loved her job as a baker in USD 464 Tonganoxie as well as her coworkers. She was amazed each day she saw the kids, watched them grow, and enjoyed talking to them.
Loretta Sue Haase of McLouth, KS, passed away Wed., Mar 13, 2024, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, KS. Loretta’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and a zest for life that touched everyone who knew her. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and other relatives.
Loretta is survived by her husband Ernie, sons: Jamie (Kelly) and Chet; granddaughters: Delaney Bliss Haase, Nova JoLee Haase, and Aurora (Rory) Sue Haase, brother: Ronnie (Regina) Combs, and sister: Sammy Combs, as well as many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
A Gathering at the Tonganoxie Cemetery (aka: Hubbel Hill Cemetery) for Loretta’s final resting place will be held from 2:00-2:45 PM on Sat., Mar 15, 2025. Immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at West Haven Baptist Church 1000 West Street Tonganoxie, KS 66086, from 3-5PM. There will be speakers, Wanda Cockerill, Rev Jim Mooney, as well as an open forum for attendee’s to share loving, joyous memories of Loretta. Loretta’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
