Nila Lorraine Denholm

Nila Lorraine Denholm, 84, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away February 25, 2025, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 1pm Saturday March 1, 2025, at the First Congregational Church, Tonganoxie, KS. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Nila was born October 7, 1940, in Evans, CO, the daughter of Irving and Sophia (Hansen) Rodman. She was united in marriage to Walter Lee Denholm on February 7, 1965. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, and the Plymouth Guild. She worked many different jobs around Tonganoxie, Opal’s Café, Village Floral, and many years as a cake decorator at B& J Applemarket. She volunteered at the Florence Riford Senior Center and the Tonganoxie Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Lee Denholm on February 20, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Gaylord, Victor, Ralph and Everett.

Survivors include sons Rodney and children Elizabeth and Rebecca; Robert (Sharon) children Matthew, Jacob, Zachary, James (Cheryl) daughter Katie, Jeffery (Shannon) children Makenna, Justin and wife (Paige); sister Bonnie Smith, Denver, CO; nieces, Michelle and Mary.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in her name to the First Congregational Church of Tonganoxie.
