THS was supposed to open the season Friday against Kansas City Christian at Johnson County Community College, but it was moved to Oct. 7 due to extreme heat. The time and venue still are to be determined.
THS coach Jon Orndorff will lead his team this week for what will be its updated season opener. Tonganoxie now will open the season Tuesday in Shawnee against Mill Valley.
The home opener will be 6 p.m. Thursday against Lansing.
Tonganoxie went 7-9-1 in 2022. The Chieftains lost in the first round to Eudora after 4 overtimes and a shootout.
