McLouth High girls basketball picks up victories
The McLouth girls have gone 3-2 after starting the season 0-9.
MHS defeated Cairx Paravel out of Topeka, 38-36, on Jan. 19 and also won Jan. 24 against Kansas City Christian, 37-30, and Horton, 54-41, on Jan. 31. Those games all were at home. They also lost a close game Jan. 21 against Horton, 48-41, and is coming off a road defeat Friday. Pleasant Ridge won, 53-25. MHS currently is the No. 7 seed in the St. Marys substate in Class 2A.
On the boys side, MHS is seeking its first victory of the season. The Bulldogs are 0-14, but are coming off a close game Friday at Pleasant Ridge. The Rams won, 37-26.
MHS finishes out the season at home against Valley Falls (Tuesday after Mirror deadline), Oskaloosa (Friday) and Atchison County (Tuesday). The regular season will finish up on the road with a Feb. 17 game at Jackson Heights near Holton and a Feb. 21 game in Atchison against Maur Hill-Mount Academy.
MHS is the No. 9 seed in the St. Marys regional in 2A.
