McLouth High softball finishes off perfect regular season with rout of Baldwin
McLouth High softball will take a perfect 20-0 record into the postseason.
MHS finished off the regular season Thursday at Baldwin. McLouth blanked Baldwin, 17-0, and completed its perfect regular season.
Ballard Patterson’s squad will have the No. 1 seed in the Class 2-1 Wathena-Riverside Regional next week.
Some teams still have games to finish up in the regular season this week, but other seeds currently are No. 2 Troy (17-2), No. 3 Oskaloosa (11-7), No. 4 Valley Falls (10-10), No. 5 Jeff County North (7-12), No. 6 Wathena-Riverside (6-14), No. 7 Pleasant Ridge (4-16), No. 8 Doniphan West (2-12) and No. 9 Horton (0-18).
Champions of the eight 2-1A regionals will compete May 25-26 at Pratt Sports Complex in Pratt. Other state sites are University of Kansas’ Arrocha Ballpark in Lawrence (6A), Wichita State’s Wilkins Stadium in Wichita (5A), Salina South High School (4A) and Twin Oaks Complex in Manhattan (3A).
McLouth baseball in KCC Regional
McLouth baseball will compete in Prairie Village in a 2-1A regional.
Kansas City Christian is the host for the regional next week.
MHS finished the regular season at 1-19 and is the No. 9 seed.
Colony-Crest is the No. 1 seed as of now at 14-0.
Pleasant Ridge is the No. 2 seed at 14-4.
Others in the regional are No. 3 Oskaloosa (15-5), No. 4 Jayhawk Linn (13-5), No. 5 KCC (11-7), No. 6 Central Heights (11-7), No. 7 Pleasanton (9-7) and No. 8 Maranatha Christian Academy (4-11).
MHS track at Valley Heights regional
McLouth track and field teams will compete May 18 at Valley Heights near Blue Rapids and Waterville north of Manhattan.
Other teams competing there are Republic County, Bennington, VHHS, Pleasant Ridge, Horton, Jackson Heights, Oskaloosa, Riverside, Sacred Heart, Smith Center, St. Marys, Cair Paravel, Wabaunsee and Jefferson County North.
Other regional hosts are Stanton County, Lyndon and Marion.
