Tonganoxie High cross country assigned 4A regional at JCCC
Tonganoxie High cross country team members at the Pleasant Ridge Inivtational on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, on the University of Saint Mary campus in Leavenworth.
Tonganoxie cross country teams will be in Overland Park for their Class 4A regional.
The girls will run at 10:15 a.m. and the boys at 10:50 a.m. Oct. 21 at Johnson County Community College, 12345 College Blvd. in Overland Park.
Other teams there are Atchison, Baldwin, Eudora, Holton, Louisburg, Ottawa, Bishop Miege, Tonganoxie and Wamego.
Other regional sites are Hutchinson (Buhler is the host), Wichita (Wichita East) and Girard (Cherokee Southeast).
McLouth competing at 2A regional
at Council Grove
McLouth will be at a 2A regional the same day at Canning Creek Cove near Council Grove.
The girls race is set to start at 10:35 a.m., while the boys race will start at 11:45 a.m.
Other teams at the regional are Alma Wabaunsee, Maur Hill Mount Academy, Valley Heights, Chase County, Pleasant Ridge, Mission Valley, Herington, Hillsboro, Jackson Heights, Horton, Marion, Oskaloosa, Valley Falls, Wathena-Riverside and Jefferson County North.
Other regional sites are Girard (Cherokee Southeast is the host), Hutchinson (Buhler) and Meade (Meade).
The top three teams from each regional qualify, as do the Top Ten runners with the possibility of additional individual runners.
THS cross country teams take 3rd at Pleasant Ridge meet
The THS cross country teams competed this past Saturday at the Pleasant Ridge Invitational on the University of Saint Mary campus in Leavenworth.
Both teams placed third at the meet, with Jett Gilmore finishing as the top boys runner in fifth and Kara Johnson doing the same on the girls side.
