Tonganoxie High volleyball earned a resounding victory Thursday for its first win of the season.

THS notched a three-set sweep in Kansas City, Kan., against Turner. The Chieftains defeated the Golden Bears, 25-11, 25-14, 25-10.

Tonganoxie now is 1-2 on the season. The non conference victory also marked the first victory of the Barry Lenth era at THS.

Fans can pack Chieftain Arena on Tuesday for Tonganoxie’s first home match of the season, which also will be the squad’s first Frontier League contest. Paola comes to town Tuesday night. The Panthers are 0-1 in conference play and 101 overall. Spring Hill (3-0) swept Paola (25-14-, 25-12, 25-18) in the Panthers’ season opener last week. PHS then won its home opener Thursday against Leavenworth, 25-23, 24-26, 25-10, 25-17.

THS also will be at home later next week when Pleasant Ridge (6-0) and Leavenworth (0-2) come to town for a triangular.
