Tonganoxie High boys wrestling 6th at Bobcat Classic

The Tonganoxie High boys wrestling team, ranked No. 2 in Class 4A, finished sixth at the rugged 35-team Bobcat Classic Saturday at Basehor-Linwood.
THS finished the two-day tournament with 126 points, just ahead of seventh-place St. Thomas Aquinas (120).
St. Pius X (Mo.) won the meet with 221.5 points. Hickman (Mo.) finished second with 196, while host BLHS took third with 161. Mill Valley placed fourth (148) and Paola fifth (141.5).
Noah Bailey (15-2) placed second at 150, while Clayton Crookham (10-6) placed fourth at 126.
Brady Martin (15-3) also placed fourth at 165.
Braeden Moore (15-4) placed sixth at 144. Moore, who won a state championship last year at 132, lost during Saturday’s semifinals and then got injured while competing in the consolation bracket.
Tyler Chrisp (10-8) also placed sixth at 106.
Tyler Pankey (7-3) lost by medical forfeit and placed eighth at 215.
Tonganoxie heads out of state for the second time this season Friday. THS will compete in a big tournament starting at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Ida Grove, Iowa.
