Tonganoxie volleyball stays undefeated after 5-set tussle with Paola

It took a bit of a marathon match, but Tonganoxie volleyball stayed undefeated after Tuesday’s Frontier League opener at Paola.

Tonganoxie won the first set, 25-21, and then needed additional volleys to finally take Set 2, 33-31.

Paola responded with a 25-17 victory in the Set 3 and then slipped past THS in Set 4, 25-23.

In the fifth and final set, Tonganoxie won, 15-13, and stayed perfect on the season.

The Chieftains moved to 1-0 in Frontier League play and 3-0 overall with the victory, while the Panthers fell to 0-2 and 1-2.

Tonganoxie is back on the road Thursday to take on De Soto (1-2).
