THS had a handful of athletes medal at the FSHS meet.

On the boys side, Jett Gilmore earned gold in the 400 with a time of 53.61 seconds. Gilmore also took 11th in the 800 (2 minutes, 14.97 seconds).

Parker Welsh earned a silver in the 1,600. He finished the race in 4:40.22.

In the 100, Todd Brown also nabbed silver with a time of 10.99. Kendall Smith placed seventh with an 11.30 time.

Others competing in the 100 were Elijah Holthaus (12th, 11.56), Hunter Nihart (15th, 11.58), Tanner Hand (32nd, 11.95), Isaiah Washington (45th, 12.13), Landen Ruff (61st, 12.49) and Kipton Harder (63rd, 12.54).

In the 4×100 Relay

The Tonganoxie team of Washington, Holthaus, Ruff and Harder placed seventh with a time of 47.23.

The team of Nihart, Smith, Hand and Brown didn’t finish.

On the girls side, Kara Johnson placed fifth in the 1,600 with a time of 6:00.74 and sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:44.42.

THS next will compete at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Junction City Invitational.
