Tonganoxie, McLouth teams shine at Eudora meet

Tonganoxie High track

Tonganoxie and McLouth track teams competed Friday at the Cardinal Relays in Eudora.

Adalyn Schooler again won gold in the discus, while several teammates on the boys and girls teams turned in silver and bronze performances. The sophomore threw the discus 109 feet, 6 inches. She also placed second in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 0 inches.

For McLouth, another sophomore won the 800 and 1,600 on the boys side. Lake Horner won both distance races. He finished the 800 in 2 minutes, 11.47 seconds and the 1,600 in 4:53.57.

Tonganoxie track next will compete Friday at the De Soto Invitational. That meet starts at 3:30 p.m.

McLouth competed Tuesday at the Silver Lake Invitational after The Mirror’s deadline and will compete again 3:45 p.m. Monday at the Pleasant Ridge Invitational.

Soon it will be time for regionals as student-athletes shoot for state berths. THS will host a Class 4A regional at 1 p.m. May 22. McLouth will be at Jefferson County North that day for a 2A regional. That meet begins at 3 p.m.
