THS defeated Shawnee Mission North, 8-5, but lost to Shawnee Heights, 6-3, and Basehor-Linwood, 10-3.

The Chieftains moved to 10-7 on the season after the tourney. Tonganoxie jumped back into Frontier League play Tuesday against Baldwin (9-4 overall and 2-2 in Frontier League play) after The Mirror’s print deadline. The game was supposed to be played at the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds, but soggy conditions forced a move to Kansas City Community College.

The THS squad will then have a week off before facing Ottawa (9-5 and 2-1) at home this coming Tuesday. Tonganoxie is back on the road May 8 at Piper (6-6)
