McLouth softball nabs another NEKL crown

McLouth Bulldogs
McLouth softball has won another Northeast Kansas League title.
The Bulldogs clinched their fourth straight conference title and headed into this week undefeated at 25-0. MHS defeated Pleasant Ridge, 17-1 and 13-1, Thursday at PRHS in the final NEKL matchup of the regular season.
McLouth played Central Heights on the road Tuesday in the regular-season finale after The Mirror’s print deadline.
The Bulldogs will be the No. 1 seed in the Mission Valley Regional when the Class 2-1A postseason begins. Other teams in the regional are Oskaloosa (17-5), Mission Valley (16-6), Rossville (10-10), Valley Falls (11-12), Pleasant Ridge (8-16), Lyndon (6-12) and Jefferson County North (6-16).
If Mclouth can win its regional, the Bulldogs will be eyeing a third straight 2-1A state title.
