THS will play a doubleheader Thursday afternoon against Atchison at the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds. The Chieftains are coming off a split doubleheader Monday against Jeff West (19-5) in games that also were played at the fairgrounds. THS lost the first game, 6-1, but came back for a 2-1 victory in the rubber match of the doubleheader. Tonganoxie currently is the No. 7 seed in the Class 4A East Bracket, but has an outside chance at hosting a regional if it wins its final two games and teams ahead of them in the standings drop their last two games. THS would need to be the No. 4 seed to host a regional.
