Tonganoxie High boys soccer coach Jon Orndorff speaks to his team after a thrilling 1-0 playoff victory against Maranatha Christian Academy on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2025, at Beatty Field.

Tonganoxie High boys soccer fought hard in the Chieftains’ regional finals matchup with No. 1 Baldwin, but THS just couldn’t score against the Bulldogs and BHS won, 2-0. Baldwin won, 4-0, in the regular season, but Tonganoxie was poised for an upset after getting an overtime victory two nights before against Maur Hill Mount Academy on a drizzle-heavy playoff match at Beatty Field.

Tonganoxie ends the season at 9-7-1, while Baldwin moved to 15-3-1. BHS won its state quarterfinal match and will be in the semifinals at 7 p.m. today against Wichita Classical School in Baldwin City.

BHS is the No. 1 seed in the 4-1A East Bracket and will take on the Wichita school out of the West Bracket. The state title match will be Saturday.
