Bishop Miege title streak ends in 4A at state volleyball
Kansas State High School Activities Association
There were some state championship streaks that survived this year’s Kansas High School Activities Association volleyball tournaments, while another ended.
Andale snapped Bishop Miege’s three-year title streak Nov. 1 in Hutchinson. Andale also won in 2021 and Miege in 2020.
Hayden is the last team other than those two to win 4A and that was in 2019. And Miege won the year before that.
In Class 1A Division I, Little River has now won five straight titles. LRHS defeated Centralia in the championship match.
St. Thomas Aquinas has now won back-to-back crowns in 5A, as the Saints dropped Blue Valley Southwest in 2 sets.
And in 1A D-II, Hanover defeated rival Linn. Both schools are in Washington County and are in the same school district. They’re also members of the Twin Valley League, which was well-represented this year at state. Another TVL team, Axtell, placed third in that division, while TVL member Centralia was runner-up in 1A D-I and Valley Heights runner-up in 2A.
That’s a total of five conference representatives altogether.
