McLouth High gets by Pleasant Ridge for 2nd straight football victory

McLouth nabbed its second victory in a row Friday.
MHS defeated Pleasant Ridge, 24-14, in the Bulldogs’ homecoming game at Stan Braksick Sports Complex. The victory moved McLouth to 2-4 overall and 2-4 in Northeast Kansas League play.
MHS has a 2-1 district record and has a big test this Friday against undefeated Jefferson County North in Winchester. The regular season wraps up a week later when MHS takes on Onaga (2-4 overall and 1-2 in district play) Oct. 24 at home.
Volleyball is No. 14 seed currently
McLouth volleyball is the No. 14 seed in the Class 2A 1 Regional.
The Bulldogs are 4-31 on the season, with three of the victories coming against winless Atchison County.
Cross country regional at Central Heights
The McLouth cross country team soon will be competing in a Class 2A regional.
Races start at 10:35 a.m. for the girls and 11:45 a.m. for the boys Oct. 25 at the Bud Schaub Athletics Complex at Central Heights High School near Richmond.
Other teams there with MHS will be Arma-Northeast, Maur Hill Mount Academy, Southeast Cherokee, Atchison County, Erie, Doniphan West, Horton, Humboldt, Oswego, Pittsburg-St. Mary’s Colgan, Kansas City Christian, Central Heights, Uniontown, Valley Falls and Jeff County North.
The state championships will be Nov. 1 at the Wamego Country Club, along with classes 4A and 1A.
