Van Middlesworth advances to second day of 4A state golf for Tonganoxie High
Paityn Van Middlesworth advanced to Day 2 of the Class 4A girls state golf championships Monday at Carey Park in Hutchinson.
The Tonganoxie High junior, making her second state appearance, finished 42nd out of 89 golfers on Day 1. Van Middlesworth finished the 18 holes with a 97. Wamego’s Addison Douglass led the field after the first day with a 77. Concordia’s Mya Niehues finished second (78) and McPherson’s Brodie Kuhn third (81).
Wamego led the team standings after the first day with a 336. Wellington was second with a 357 and McPherson third with a 359.
