Tonganoxie cross country ends year at regionals

Tonganoxie High cross country teams finished up their seasons Saturday at a Class 4A regional in Leonardville.
The boys finished eighth out of eight teams, while the girls were sixth out of six squads.
Elijah Weatherford led Tonganoxie on the boys side with a 23rd-place finish, while Brooke Nihart led the girls with a 27th-place finish.
Wamego swept the team titles at the meet. WHS especially dominated in the boys race. The Red Raiders nabbed the top four spots and their fifth runner was seventh.
