Tonganoxie golf takes 3rd at Frontier League meet

It was another third-place finish for the Tonganoxie High boys golf team this spring.
THS finished No. 3 at the Frontier League meet Thursday at Spring Hill’s Sycamore Ridge after shooting a 351 as a squad.
Spring Hill won the meet with a 313, while Bonner Springs was just ahead of THS with a 348. The rest of the field was Ottawa (368), Paola (372), Eudora (373), Louisburg (383) and Baldwin (388).
Luke McRae paced Tonganoxie once again. He placed fourth with an 81. Spring Hill’s Ty McFarland won the meet with a 71.
Cameron Wensel finished 11th for THS with an 86 and Lachlan McRae 13th with the same score.Carson Heffel finished 31st with a 98, Griffith Dean 37th with a 100 and Owen Heffel 46th with a 111 for Tonganoxie.
THS finishes out the season with the Junction City Invitational and the Perry-Lecompton Invitational at Lake Perry Country Club.
Substate will be May 18. This year’s substate sites are Atchison, Emporia, Andale and Fort Scott.
