THS was 14-6 entering play this week as the No. 5 seed in the Class 4A East Bracket. The top four teams earn the right to host regionals.

The Chieftains are coming off a 1-2 showing in a tournament Friday and Saturday. THS defeated Shawnee Heights, 4-3, and lost contests against Shawnee Mission North, 3-2, and Washburn Rural, 4-0.

Tonganoxie returns to Frontier League play Thursday at Baldwin (8-6) and then is at Ottawa (8-5) for a doubleheader on May 5. THS then finishes out the regular season with non-conference games May 7 at home against Piper (3-13) and then a doubleheader on the road May 11 near Meriden against Jeff West (9-5).
