Kansas City Monarchs in 1st, Sporting KC last in divisions

The Kansas City Monarchs play in the American Association of Baseball Professionals.

The Kansas City Monarchs are atop the standings in their division, while Sporting Kansas City is working to get out of last place in its conference.

The Monarchs were leading the American Association of Baseball Professional’s West Division by a half-game as of Tuesday afteroon. Kansas City was 45-35, but right behind were the Winnipeg Goldeyes at 44-35. The Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks were in third place at 42-38, just 3 games behind the Monarchs.

In the East Division, the Milwaukee Milkmen have the best record in the league at 47-33, but the Lake County DockHounds were not far behind at 46-34, just a game out of first place. The Kane County Cougars were 43-35 and 3 games out of first place.

In Major League Soccer, Sporting Kansas City was 4-13-2 with 14 points and in last place in the MLS’ 15-team Western Conference. The team is 3 points behind Austin FC, as SKC has 14 and Austin has 17.

The Vancouver Whitecaps were in first place in the Western Conference with a record of 11-3-4. The Whitecaps also were at 37 points, 2 ahead of the Houston Dyanamo. Houston is 11-6-2.
