Tonganoxie wrestling teams back on the competition mats with meets

Tonganoxie High boys and girls wrestling teams are back in action this week as the 2026 portion of the schedule begins.

The THS boys are in action Friday and Saturday at a tournament in Dodge City and then are off a week before competing in another tourney Jan. 16 and 17 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

The THS girls have a mixer at 5 p.m. Thursday at Basehor-Linwood against BLHS and Eudora.

The team then will have a meet at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Blue Valley Southwest and then another tournament Wednesday, Jan. 14 and then Jan. 15 in Newton. The meet starts at 3 p.m. the first day and 9 a.m. on Day 2.

From there the squad has a mixer Jan. 20 at Ottawa.

The next Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association rankings will come out Jan. 16.

Tonganoxie High boys and girls wrestling teams are ranked in the latest Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association polls.

The Tonganoxie boys moved up to No. 2, while the THS girls entered the polls in the No. 10 spot.

The boys are a spot behind fellow Frontier League member Paola, which currently is the top-ranked squad in 4A.
