McRae in state golf title hunt on Day 2

Lachlan McRae has advanced to Day 2 of the Class 4A state golf championships and was 2 strokes behind first place entering Wednesday’s play.
The Tonganoxie High senior shot a 71 Tuesday at Hesston Golf Course. He was tied for fourth with two other golfers. Wamego’s Regan Kueker and Fort Scott’s Reece Roberts were atop the leaderboard with low scores of 69 each. Circle’s Anderson Helmer was in third with 70.
The Top 6 team’s that advanced to Day 2 were Wamego, Bishop Miege, Santa Fe Trail, Circle, Andale and Fort Scott.
