Tonganoxie High's Eli Holthaus pursues Ottawa quaterback Aaron Blaine on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, at Beatty Field. THS won the game, 21-0.

Tonganoxie High registered another shutout Friday and earned a Frontier League title in the process.

THS defeated Ottawa, 21-0, on Senior Night at Beatty Field and improved to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in Frontier League play.

The Chieftains looked a bit out of sync early on, but notched their initial score midway through the second quarter.

Bodee Maslak scored with 6:48 left before halftime on a 2-yard touchdown run.

Ottawa had to punt later in the quarter, but the punt touched a Tonganoxie player who was blocking an OHS opponent. The Cyclones recovered at the Chieftain 28 and started the drive at the 14 after a THS unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. But Ottawa couldn’t do anything with the opportunity and actually moved backward. THS eventually stopped Ottawa on fourth-and-18 from the 22.

Tonganoxie scored again in the third quarter on a Blake Riedel 2-yard run and a final time in the fourth quarter on a Maslak 5-yard TD run.

The Chieftains had a chance in the first half to punch in another score, but the Cyclones assembled a goal-line stand and the drive ended at fourth-and-1 at the OHS 1-yard line.

Tonganoxie will be back at Beatty Field for the Week 9 playoff game. THS is the No. 7 seed in the Class 4A East Bracket and will play No. 10 Labette County (4-4). The winner faces No. 2 Louisburg (6-2) or No. 15 Bonner Springs (1-7) the next week. Tonganoxie could get a rematch against Frontier League foe Louisburg. The Wildcats defeated the Chieftains, 21-7, in Week 1.
