Tonganoxie football opens Friday at Louisburg with later start time; Cross country starts Saturday on USM campus
Tonganoxie football getting season started Friday against a Frontier League foe that has battled the Chieftains to some tight games in the last few years.
THS will play Friday against Lousiburg at Wildcat Stadium.The game has been moved back to 7:30 p.m. due to the excessive heat.
Tonganoxie won the game, 20-14, last year, but Louisburg won the year before in overtime. Last year’s Tonganoxie victory actually was the program’s first in the series since 2020. Although Louisburg had won four in a row, two games and been decided by a point, another was by a touchdown and two of the games went into overtime.
THS cross country at Leavenworth
Tonganoxie High cross country gets the season started at 8 a.m. Saturday with a triangular against Lansing and Leavenworth on the University of Saint Mary campus.
