THS defeated Atchison, 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-15) on the road Tuesday and then won its home opener Thursday against Turner, 3-0 (set scores not available).
The victories also marked the first of the Ginny Reischman era as THS varsity head coach.
Tonganoxie will have its first Frontier League match with a 6:30 p.m. match this coming Tuesday at Paola. THS then is on the road for a 6:30 match Sept. 10 at Osawatomie.

Tonganoxie’s first tournament of the season will be Sept. 12 at the Nemaha Central Invitational in Seneca.
The field includes defending Class 1A Division II champion Hanover and 4A foe Rock Creek, which is ranked No. 9 in the preseason Kansas Volleyball Association rankings. Hanover is No. 2 in 1A D-II.
Other teams at the tournament are Nemaha Central, Maranatha, Northeast Kansas Homeschool, Sabetha, Atchison, Hiawatha and Marysville. Pool play starts at 9 a.m. that day.
