Tonganoxie football blanks No. 3 Eudora on road

THS defeated Eudora, 14-0, Friday at EHS and picked up its first league victory of the season.
The Cardinals, ranked No. 3 in the latest kpreps state rankings, just couldn’t get much going against a Tonganoxie defense that has continued to thrive in the early going this year.

Eudora’s best shot at a score came right before halftime when the Cards were driving and attempted a 45-yard field goal, but the kick went wide left and Tonganoxie went into the intermission with a 6-0 lead.
Blake Riedel scored Tonganoxie’s second quarter touchdown on a 5-yard run. Roman Holthaus caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Hudson Myers for Tonganoxie’s second score in the third quarter. Tonganoxie went for the two-point conversion, but had a false start. Tonganoxie attempted the conversion from 8 yards out and Myers again found Holthaus for the reception.
THS improved to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in Frontier League play; Eudora dropped to 2-1 and 1-1.
Next up for Tonganoxie is Paola. The Panthers are 2-1 and 1-1. PHS is coming off a 42-7 victory against Ottawa (2-1 and 1-1).
