The boys were just 4 points behind champion Pleasant Ridge. The Rams scored 44 and McLouth 48. Perry-Lecompton finished third with 56 and Jeff West (101), Valley Falls (123) and Oskaloosa (154) finished out the team scoring.

The girls scored 51 behind for third behind champion Valley Falls (34) and Oskaloosa (37). Perry-Lecompton, Jeff West and Pleasant Ridge also competed, but did not field full teams.

On the boys side, freshmen Caleb Bandel and Zahir Galvez placedm second and third, respectively. Bandel finished with a time of 20 minutes, 15.32 seconds. Galvez finished in 20:51.42.

Sophomore Grayson Burnett placed fifth with a 21:17.08 time. Freshman Easton Wylie nabbed 34th (24:52.96) and sophomore Quinten Tucker took 40th (25:42.98). Junior Josh Aitken finished 48th (27:22.62) and freshman Jack Spencer 53rd (29:06.92).

Jeff West’s Dalton Westbrook won the meet with a time of 19:30.82.

On the girls side, MHS junior Evy Chowning led the Bulldogs with a time of 25:39.29.

Junior Laci Moffet took eighth (26:17.92) and junior Kinlee Wolfe 14th (27:46.66). Senior Lucy Boese took 16th (28:11.72) and junior Aaliyah Dlugopolski 22nd (39:14.23).

Oskaloosa’s Annabelle Shelkey won the meet with a time of 23:05.19.
