Minimum-custody resident Joshua W. Renfro was apprehended a day after walking away from Lansing Correctional Facility.

Renfro was taken into custody Monday night by law enforcement officials in Leavenworth County. He was arrested on the Kansas Department of Corrections escape warrant without incident, according to a KDOC release.

Renfro had been placed on escape status around 9 p.m. Sunday after he walked away from the minimum-security unit at LCF. No other details were being released as the investigation is ongoing, according to a Monday press release.

Renfro, 39, was reported missing when the resident could not be located at the minimum-security unit. He is serving a 30-month sentence for a 2020 violation of an extended protection order conviction in Allen County. He has four prior convictions dating back to 2001.
