The fifth annual Tongie Tailgate kicked off the school year Friday evening with hot dogs, chips and cookies. Tonganoxie middle and high school teams were introduced, while Tonganoxie Elementary School students were recognized for academic achievements from the 2023-24 school year. THS volleyball also had a practice open to the public, while THS soccer and football also were showcased with practice sessions at Beatty Field. The THS Marching Chieftains also performed for the Tongie Tailgate crowd at the district’s stadium.
